vision and mission

Mission

Empowering communities, transforming lives: A Somalia where every individual thrives with dignity, resilience, and hope.

Vision

Aussie Association Somalia (AAS) is committed to providing lifesaving assistance, promoting human dignity, and fostering resilience among vulnerable populations in Somalia.

Aussie Association of Somalia (AAS) is an Australian International Non Governmental Organization (INGO) that was formed in 2017 to reach out and respond to humanitarian problems facing the horn of Africa. AAS is currently

operating in the regions of Somalia where there are many communities that are facing humanitarian crisis caused by drought, political instability and frequent terrorist attacks that has put more than half the population of Somalia into a crisis.

AAS is proud to be actively involved in the life touching programs in Kahda District, Banadir region of Somalia where we have managed to put children in school as schools are the safest places children can be raised, learn and even get fed.

With this we are projecting that if fully implemented we will be able to solve nutritional needs, security, education, guidance and counselling and in return deliver adults who will be tolerant in the society and lead to a peaceful community.

Through inclusive education program AAS have enrolled over 900 children in school most of them being victims and survivors of GBV, early child marriage, FGM and child labor. The learning institution caters for all school ages irrespective of their education

historical background through differentiated learning where each child is taught based on the ability and need a system that has positively impacted the communities’ perception on education.

AAS is currently working on a Technical and vocational Education and Training
(TVET) Training center in Kahda district which will be one of its kind in Somalia, for the last 30 years in Somalia there hasn’t been a technical college training on market technical skills as 90% of tertiary schools are teaching languages, religion and basic computer skills making Somalia a consuming country with many unemployed youths.

The Kahda college is going to train all the technical skills and equip youths, women and the society with job creating skills rather than job seeking skills.

AAS boast of having touched directly the lives in the society within the shortest time of its operation in Somalia and project that much more will be done in the near future with the vision of becoming a household humanitarian name that everyone in Somalia will think of when thinking humanity. Within the three years of active operation, AAS services have reached over 1000 households directly and are projecting to triple this each year.

AAS is run by an organized system of management of experienced professionals within their specific areas of operation right from the Executive Director to the focal points at the camps making AAS have smooth and well- coordinated operations.

AAS is further guided by principles of professionalism and core values.
